Peter Haywood is an ex-Army musician who collects and researches postcard photographs of Army bands of the period 1908-1920. He thinks that this one was taken at RFC Halton about 1917. It is a fine photo with enough detail to give an indication of the characters of some of those included.
In 2010 Central Band became the first non-Russian military band to take part in the May Day Parade in Red Square, Moscow

During such visits there is always time to exchange headgear.
On 31st May 2010, the closure of RAF Uxbridge was marked by a final parade. The photo is a moment from the very last band display to be performed on the Uxbridge parade ground.
And the following morning the Central Band marched in RAF Northolt to a welcome from the residents.

Two old photos, with the first being the 1986 Royal Tournament. Were you there?

The second is really old, and is one of the many bands in the Royal Flying Corps. A direct ancestor of the modern RAF Music Services.

Central Band performing in the Curiam (Kourion) amphitheatre. This must be one of the most beautiful settings for an open air concert anywhere.

The Band of the Royal Air Force of Oman visited Cranwell several times to combine with the RAF College Band for Graduation Parades. This picture shows them in combined formation on the College steps.
The first two photos have contrasting subjects. The black and white photo is of the Squadronaires with the other acts preparing a Combined Services Entertainment show about to be staged in the desert. This was in 1990 and the audience comprised troops waiting to invade Iraq.
